THE INVITATION:
WHAT THIS FILM IS, AND WHY IT MATTERS
At its core, Outdoor School is a film about belonging: what happens when a young person is seen, supported, and given room to grow. From the earliest stages of production, Outdoor School was made with accountability to the communities it reflects. People connected to the story were brought into real production environments through paid roles and mentorship, contributing directly to the film while gaining professional experience. That commitment to process shaped both the work itself and how it continues to be shared - Each screening is designed to be more than an exhibition—it is a gathering, bringing together audiences, educators, families, and community leaders around the themes the film raises creating space for reflection and dialogue. This is an invitation to support the continued reach of a film grounded in craft, accountability, and cultural responsibility.
Local Nonprofit Partnership
At each community screening Outdoor School is presented in collaboration with local organizations whose work aligns with the film's themes. They will be invited to engage in the post- screening dialogue, plus a portion of ticket sales will go to benefit those organizations who are doing the on the ground work to help communities flourish, in that region.
